The Bauchi State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has congratulated Senator Nenadi Usman on her Supreme Court victory and confirmation as the party’s substantive National Chairperson, describing the judgment as an affirmation of justice and due process.
In a press statement issued Friday and signed by State Chairman Hon. Auwalu Tukur and State Secretary Rev. Joshua Sunday, the Bauchi executives said the ruling reflected the collective will of committed party members nationwide.
The chapter also commended the Labour Party for what it described as a “peaceful, orderly, and successful National Convention held in Abia State.
It singled out Governor Alex Otti for praise, crediting his leadership and support for the smooth conduct of the convention.
“The successful event clearly reflected the party’s dedication to internal democracy, unity, and sustainable growth,” the statement read.
Tukur thanked Labour Party members in Bauchi for their support during the recent ward, local government and state congresses that produced the current state executive, including himself as chairman and Rev. Sunday as secretary.
Looking ahead to 2027, the Bauchi leadership appealed to the faction led by Julius Abure and “all aggrieved members to embrace peace and work with Senator Usman in the spirit of unity, reconciliation, and progress.
A similar call was extended to former Bauchi State executives under Comrade Sabi’u.
“The responsibility ahead requires unity, dedication, and collective effort as we continue working toward repositioning the Labour Party for greater achievements, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Tukur said.
The statement reaffirmed the party’s stance as a “credible, dependable, and people-oriented platform” open to progressive Nigerians and opposition figures dissatisfied with the ruling APC.
processes. It added that the party remained committed to safeguarding democracy against every form of manipulation, including the abuse of judicial processes.
