BOYOFMA Backs Return of Ex-Gov for 2027 Bauchi Governorship

A youth group from Bogoro Local Government Area has urged Bauchi residents to rally behind former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

This call was made in a press release signed by Morumda Daji on behalf of Bogoro Youth For M.A. (BOYOFMA) on Tuesday.

The group said Bauchi State needs someone with experience, integrity, and proven capacity at this stage, citing Abubakar’s 2015-2019 administration as the foundation to build on.

BOYOFMA, while highlighting the former governor’s record in education, healthcare, agriculture, and fiscal discipline, expressed optimism that, if he returns to power, he will focus on school renovations, upgrades to health facilities, and policies to boost farm productivity.

According to the youth group, M.A.’s administration also maintained discipline in public finance with timely payment of salaries and pensions.

“His administration demonstrated a clear commitment to education, healthcare, agriculture, rural development, fiscal discipline, and public-sector stability,” the statement read.

“At a time when Bauchi State needed responsible leadership, he provided direction, structure, and purposeful governance.” The youth added.

The group also noted Abubakar’s loyalty to the APC since leaving office in 2019, describing his consistency and maturity as qualities that make him a unifying figure ahead of 2027.

It said ex-Governor Abubakar’s experience positions Bauchi to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda”.

BOYOFMA urged the next administration to focus on reviving moribund state assets, including Bauchi Meat Factory, Bauchi Fertiliser, Bauchi Furniture Company, and Yankari Game Reserve.

The group argued that reviving them could create jobs, boost internally generated revenue, and reduce youth restiveness.

For Bogoro LGA specifically, BOYOFMA said Abubakar’s return would mean “stronger inclusion, better development attention, improved representation, and renewed hope”.
