The Delta State National Assembly Primary Election Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress in last Saturday’s primary election across the country has assured aggrieved aspirants of transparency and credibility in carrying out its assignment.
The committee, however, called on concerned aspirants and party members to formally submit complaints arising from Saturday’s exercise across the state.
The committee said the move was part of efforts to strengthen the party’s internal democratic process and ensure fairness, transparency and credibility following the direct primaries that produced candidates for the 10 federal constituencies in Delta State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Chairman of the Committee, Chukwuemeka Ujam, said the party leadership remains committed to a transparent and credible process free from interference.
“All petitions, appeals and complaints relating to the conduct of the primaries would receive due attention in accordance with the party’s constitution, guidelines and democratic principles.
“The appeal process provides an opportunity for dissatisfied aspirants and stakeholders to seek redress through established party mechanisms, while also helping to preserve unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he stated.
The committee urged party faithful to channel their grievances through peaceful and lawful means, assuring them that every petition would be treated fairly and objectively.
