Eke Assumes Office as NYSC Coordinator in Gombe

Regina Eke has assumed office as the new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Gombe State, succeeding Mrs Chinwe Nwachuku.

The change followed Nwachuku’s retirement after serving the scheme, according to a statement the state’s NYSC Public Relations Officer, Peace Owonibi, issued on Monday.

Owonibi said the NYSC management had posted Eke to take charge of the scheme’s affairs in Gombe State.

“The NYSC, Gombe State Secretariat wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders, corps members and corps employers that there has been a change in the leadership of the scheme in the state.

“The management has posted Mrs Regina Eke as the State Coordinator of NYSC, Gombe State,” she said.

She disclosed that Eke officially assumed duty on Friday, following her redeployment from the scheme’s South-South Area Office I in Asaba.

Before her new appointment, Eke served as a deputy director at the area office.

Owonibi said the new coordinator had pledged to consolidate the achievements recorded under her predecessor’s leadership.

She added that Eke solicited the support and cooperation of the Gombe State Government, residents and other stakeholders.

The new coordinator also expressed her commitment to working with relevant stakeholders towards advancing the objectives of the NYSC in the state.
