In the middle of the much anticipated defection of Governor Bala Mohammed to the ruling All Progressives Congress, a group has launched the Kaura Force Movement in an apparent show of unwavering confidence in his leadership style.
Speaking at the launching ceremony in Bauchi on Monday, Mohammed Bello Wada described the movement as a citizens-driven initiative that aims to protect democratic mandates, defend credible leadership, and promote grassroots political mobilisation and responsible civic participation.
He praised Governor Mohammed’s commitment to inclusive governance, citing his administration’s strategic infrastructure projects, economic empowerment programmes, and investments in education and healthcare.
The supporters of the governor also commended his efforts in promoting religious harmony and peaceful coexistence in the state.
The KAURA FORCE Movement pledged to provide significant support to Governor Mohammed’s future political endeavours, including purchasing his nomination form and covering 50% of campaign logistics.
According to Maiwada, the move reflects the deep trust and loyalty that citizens have in his leadership.
The launch comes amid internal disagreements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which the KAURA FORCE Movement believes should be resolved through dialogue and consensus. The movement emphasises the importance of strong opposition institutions in a democracy.
They stated that Governor Mohammed, known for his progressive leadership style and commitment to development, has earned respect beyond Bauchi State, with many recognising him as a national bridge-builder and defender of democratic values.
