The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has set a target of securing 90 percent support from registered voters in the Ondo East and Ondo West Federal Constituencies for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tunji-Ojo, who is described as the Captain of the Positive Crew, conveyed the message to representatives of Wards 2, 4, 5, 6 and 12 in Ondo East Local Government Area through the First Officer of the group, Otunba Bola Fisayo.
According to the minister, the five wards comprise about 60 settlements with a significant number of registered voters.
He said the state should pay greater attention to people in rural and remote communities, ensuring they participate in and benefit from government programmes and interventions.
Tunji-Ojo also called for greater integration between rural and urban communities, stressing the need to address development disparities across the state.Representatives from more than 60 villages in Ondo East were reportedly dispatched to deliver President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to residents.
In a separate engagement in Ondo West, the minister hosted more than 1,000 members of the Tailors Association through Fisayo, where discussions centred on collaboration and partnership ahead of the 2027 general election.
Members of the association said they were ready to work with the minister, hoping the APC-led administration would consolidate its achievements and create more opportunities for association members.
Leaders in the federal constituency also commended Tunji-Ojo and Fisayo, saying they believed their standing among residents could contribute to the APC’s campaign efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
