Omotosho succeeds John Ugbe, who is retiring after nearly 15 years at the helm. Ugbe leaves behind a legacy of consistent growth, innovation, and the expansion of MultiChoice’s presence throughout Nigeria.

The new CEO has over two decades of experience in media, telecommunications, and digital businesses throughout Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her career has been marked by a strong emphasis on operational excellence, customer value management, and strategic growth in complex, multi-market settings.

Omotosho’s new role will include overseeing MultiChoice Nigeria’s overall strategy, day-to-day operations, and engagement with regulators, partners, and other key stakeholders. She is also expected to promote local content creation and the growth of Nigeria’s creative economy, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to the country as a key strategic market.

“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the leadership of MultiChoice Nigeria at this critical time,” Omotosho stated after her appointment. “Nigeria remains one of the Group’s key markets. I’m excited to collaborate with our teams and partners to strengthen our consumer relationships, promote local storytelling and the creative economy, and create a future-ready organisation that delivers long-term value.”

Omotosho is a seasoned executive with the MultiChoice Group, having held several senior leadership positions over the years. She previously worked as the executive head of customer value management in Nigeria before becoming the group executive head of customer value management for the rest of Africa, where she provided functional leadership in over 50 markets. In these roles, she oversaw initiatives aimed at lowering customer churn, increasing digital product adoption, and improving average revenue per user.

She also oversaw major business transformation initiatives, such as the implementation of agile project management frameworks, programme governance structures, and knowledge-sharing platforms throughout the Group. Omotosho’s most recent position was as regional director for Southern Africa, where she managed a seven-country portfolio with full profit-and-loss responsibility, solidifying her reputation as a results-driven leader capable of managing large teams and complex operations while maintaining a long-term strategic perspective.

Her career began in customer service and operations at Computer Systems Associates, followed by key leadership roles at Airtel Nigeria, where she was responsible for postpaid customer retention, enterprise account management, and revenue optimisation.

Omotosho has an Executive MBA from Lagos Business School at Pan-Atlantic University, a postgraduate diploma in management from the Nigerian Institute of Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Ilorin.

Her appointment reflects MultiChoice’s commitment to strong strategic leadership, operational discipline, and local market relevance as it navigates an increasingly competitive media landscape. As Nigeria grows as a major hub for African content and entertainment, Omotosho’s leadership is expected to play a critical role in shaping the country’s digital media ecosystem.
