The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Raphael Oni on his appointment as Special Assistant on Digital and Public Diplomacy to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye.
The Unions’ Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, in a congratulatory message on Wednesday, said Oni’s appointment is a welcome development for effective public diplomacy and digital engagement.
“With over 15 years of distinguished service in diplomatic reporting, government communication, and photojournalism, and as publisher of Diplomats Extra Magazine, he brings the professional experience and institutional knowledge that the Ministry and the Nigerian public will greatly benefit from,” she said.
Oni had previously served as Secretary, NUJ Correspondents Chapel, Abuja, where he carried out his duties diligently and remained a committed member.
The NUJ FCT Council believes he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in this new appointment and will be an excellent ambassador for the Union.
“As a former Secretary General of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria, Oni demonstrated steadfast commitment to journalistic standards and professional collaboration.
“We are confident he will use his expertise to strengthen transparent, timely, and strategic communications that will advance the Ministry’s mandate and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The NUJ FCT Council pledges its support and cooperation, looking forward to a cordial and productive working relationship with Oni and the new media team of the Minister.
