One APC, One Tinubu: Party pledges unity ahead of 2027 polls in Oyo

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has signaled a strong show of unity as it endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

The decision came at an expanded stakeholders’ meeting during the weekend at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan Southwest, where party leaders and influential members gathered to chart a cohesive path forward.

Attendees included State Chairman Olayide Abass; former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin; Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and House of Representatives member, Aderemi Oseni.

During the meeting, Folarin, who doubles as the Ambassador for Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu in the state, emphasised that unity is the cornerstone of political success.

“No strategy, however brilliant, can thrive in division. Our mission is clear: One APC, One Tinubu Project,” he said.

The former senate leader stressed the importance of strengthening the party structures at every level, from the state executive to all 33 local governments, 351 wards, and every polling unit, ensuring that the party remained vibrant, functional, and closely connected to the grassroots.

Folarin also noted that a united APC in Oyo would build on its 2023 presidential performance, aiming to increase votes for Tinubu by at least 35 percent in 2027.

“Our strength lies in coordination, teamwork, and a shared Renewed Hope agenda. Oyo will not just follow the national direction; it will set a benchmark for political efficiency,” he added.

On his part, Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu noted that reconciliation efforts within the party have achieved over 91 percent success, paving the way for a cohesive campaign against the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“With this development, the coast is clear for the APC to sweep the polls and show the PDP the exit door in 2027,” he stated.

While speaking, the House of Representatives member for Ido/Ibarapa, Aderemi Oseni echoed the call for unity, urging all party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure a strong, collective effort behind President Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
