The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee Chairman in Ebonyi State, Barr. Onyebuchi Emmanuel Ekuma, on Monday, stated that the party is going to field credible candidates for the forthcoming Ebonyi State Local Government elections.
Disclosing this in a statement, the PDP chieftain, who is at the forefront of ensuring that the party regains its political dominance against all odds, emphasised that credible candidates of the party will be fielded across the 13 LGAs of the state.
He called on the Ebonyi State Electoral Independent Commission, EBSEIC, to operate within the provisions of the law and guidelines establishing the Commission, as the PDP will not allow any form of manipulation and injustice to reign in the course of the elections.
He added that no stone will be left unturned towards giving the PDP victory at the polls.
The PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman further advised the Commission to conduct the election with the fear of God and total submission to the will and aspirations of the Ebonyi people.
According to him, PDP is fielding candidates for the LG election, candidates who will sweep all the LGAs. We have been closely monitoring the activities of APC ahead of the forthcoming LG election, and we are aware of their gimmicks and usual political strategies.
“Nobody can stop the wish of the people from prevailing at the polls. We will show them that the political scheming and manoeuvring of the Ebonyi State APC cannot work this time around. Gone are the days when our LG elections are conducted by way of appointment of one man or a few individuals and by family heritage.
“We cannot sit back and watch the precious future of our people diverted and toyed with on the altar of greed and avarice of our so-called leaders,” he added.
The PDP boss in Ebonyi State called on the leaders, stakeholders and members of the party to join hands and ensure that the PDP wins at the polls.
