Police Arrest Four Siblings Over Murder of 40-Year-Old Private Guard in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Command of the Nigerian Police has arrested four siblings in connection with the murder of a private guard, Bello Bura, 40, at a farm in the Jama’are Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the arrest followed a report received by hunters’ personnel at the Jama’are Divisional Police Headquarters on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at about 3:55 am, alleging an attack on three private guards at Idris Waziri Kwamawa’s farm in Jama’are.

A police team led by the Divisional Police Officer responded to the scene and found Bello Bura dead, while two other guards, Sani Hussaini, 32, and Gidado Mohammed, 32, both from Jadauvi Village, Gamawa LGA, were injured.

The injured guards were taken to the General Hospital, where Bello Bura was pronounced dead.

The deceased’s body has been handed over to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.

The police initially detained six suspects, but four siblings have been identified as prime suspects and are being held for culpable homicide.

They are Chidawa Ahmadu, 25, Adamu Ahmadu, 20, Usman Ahmadu, 15, and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22, all from Bediri Village, Jumbori, Jama’are LGA.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any security concerns to the nearest police station or contact the Command’s Control Room at 08151849417. Investigations are ongoing.
