The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has restricted movement across the FCT from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, for Area Council Elections. Miller G. Dantawaye, Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, revealed this in a statement released on Friday by the Command’s spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh.
CP Dantawaye stated that the restriction would apply to all residents except essential service providers and duly accredited election officials.
The FCT Police Command urged residents to maintain peace, obey the law, and work with security agencies to ensure a safe, free, and credible electoral process.
Members of the public are also encouraged to report any suspicious individuals or activities to the Command’s emergency lines at 08032003913 and 08061581938.
