The member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Saidu Musa Abdullahi, has expressed gratitude to leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Abdullahi, who is also the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Finance, described his emergence as “a demonstration of confidence in my leadership, representation and commitment toward the progress of the constituency.”
The lawmaker particularly commended Umar Mohammed Bago for the role he played in the consensus arrangement, noting that the governor’s support and encouragement over the years remained a major source of motivation.
“The Governor’s continuous support, encouragement and belief in my capacity remain a strong source of motivation and responsibility toward strengthening the voice, relevance and competitiveness of Niger State at the National Assembly,” he said.
Abdullahi also appreciated the support and prayers of the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar; the Sheshi of Katcha, Alhaji Baba Adamu; district heads; village heads; traditional institutions; and religious leaders across the constituency for their commitment to peace and unity.
He further acknowledged members of the Niger State House of Assembly, local government chairmen and their deputies, commissioners, ward councillors, political appointees, party elders and stakeholders across Bida, Gbako and Katcha for their solidarity during consultations leading to the consensus decision.
The federal lawmaker equally commended the national, zonal, state, senatorial district, local government, ward and unit structures of the APC for their loyalty and overwhelming support throughout the process.
Abdullahi also extended appreciation to women’s groups, youth associations, students’ organisations, trade unions, inter-tribal associations, faith-based organisations and community groups across the constituency for their support and goodwill.
He praised other aspirants and their supporters for embracing dialogue and party unity, saying their maturity and understanding contributed significantly to the peaceful emergence of a consensus candidate.
“The development is a collective victory for the APC and the entire Bida/Gbako/Katcha federal constituency. The spirit of unity, maturity and sacrifice demonstrated by all parties involved remains highly commendable,” he stated.
Abdullahi appealed to his supporters and political associates to avoid mocking or insulting anyone over the outcome of the consultations, stressing that the arrangement was aimed at strengthening party unity and collective progress.
He assured the people of the constituency that his emergence as a consensus candidate would further strengthen his commitment to quality representation, facilitation of impactful projects and humanitarian support, while reaffirming support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
