Tinubu Mourns Victims, Hails Military For Killing Terrorists in Borno Attack

President Bola Tinubu has mourned victims of the recent terrorist attack on the Ngoshe community in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, while commending the Nigerian military for killing scores of terrorists during a swift counter-operation.

The President also directed security agencies to urgently rescue residents abducted by the insurgents during the attack.

In a statement reacting to the incident, Tinubu described the assault by Boko Haram fighters on the community as a cruel attack on innocent citizens.

He praised the military and the Nigerian Air Force for their rapid response, which he said forced the terrorists to retreat after several of them were neutralised during the operation.

The President expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones in the attack, including military personnel and civilians affected during the aerial operation against the fleeing terrorists.

Additionally, he directs the armed forces to intensify their efforts to protect civilians nationwide and prevent attacks on military installations in the northeast.

President Tinubu prays for the souls of those who lost their lives in the attacks and friendly fire and extends his sympathies to their families and the Borno State Government.
