PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu on Monday, met with the newly appointed Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

It was their first known meeting since their appointments last week.

Recall that President Tinubu had last week, announced sweeping changes in the military hierarchy naming LT. Gen. Oluyede, who was before now the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, as Chief of Defence Staff to replace General Christopher Musa.

Major Gen. W. Shaibu was appointed Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke became Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas took over as Chief of Naval Staff.

Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retained his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

Announcing their appointment, the president charged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by enhancing professionalism, vigilance, and comradeship within the Armed Forces.

It’s expected that the Senate will screen and confirm their nomination and thereafter, they will be decorated with their new ranks.
