President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has opened the long-awaited sales of nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by picking the first forms to pave the way for his re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The President purchased the forms on Tuesday at the Abuja Continental Hotel, through a team led by the House of Representatives member James Abiodun Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, and other directors in the Presidency.
The documents were handed over to the delegation by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu. Immediately, the party commenced sales to aspirants from the 36 States of the Federation.
Addressing newsmen after picking up the forms, Faleke expressed optimism about the chances of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, saying, “I represent the Ikeja Federal constituency, and by the grace of God, I am the representative of Mr President in the House of Representatives. “So, for all support groups that have made efforts and contributed money to purchase the forms, I have done so today on their behalf and on behalf of Nigerians.
“There is no one particular person who has done this. It is on behalf of all Nigerians. Just as we did in the pre-2023 election, I was also privileged to buy the form with some leaders.
“Here again, I am privileged to buy the forms on behalf of all Nigerians, for our performing president, and by the grace of God, 2027 will be a reality. By the grace of God, he will contest, and he will win the election.
“At the same time, I am also privileged, with my friend here, Ajala Oni, to pick the form for the incoming Governor of Lagos State, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamza, and let me also say that those of us who contributed money to buy these forms are more than 1,000 in Lagos.
“All of us cannot come here and pick the forms. Only representatives are sent. At the same time, I picked my own form to return to the House of Representatives, and you can see the form with me.
“So, I am lucky, and I am also waiting behind to get the receipt of our incumbent senator, Senator Idiat Adebule, so that I can pick the form for her from my West Senatorial District. This is just to let you know that everything is intact and God is in charge,” Faleke stated.
So far, President Tinubu seems to be the only presidential candidate of the party in the 2027 presidential election to have obtained the forms, which cost N100 million: N30 million for the expression of interest and N70 million for the nomination.
Representatives of other aspirants vying for governorship, Senate, and House of Representatives seats were seen at the venue purchasing the respective forms for their principals.
The exercise, which started on Saturday, April 25, 2026, will end on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with the hope that all aspirants will have picked up their forms accordingly, as the party is not thinking towards extending the exercise.
