The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) on Monday commenced its observance of World Oral Health Day 2026, as the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, announced a significant 50% reduction in select dental services.
The World Oral Health Day 2026 is aimed at promoting dental health awareness and accessibility.
Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, the chief medical director of UBTH, officially launched the programme, announcing a significant 50% discount on a range of dental treatments.
The discounted treatments will be available from March 16th to 19th at the UBTH Dental Clinic.
Patients can benefit from reduced prices on essential procedures such as scaling and polishing, extractions, GIC restorations, and radiographs.
This initiative aims to encourage individuals to prioritise their oral health and seek necessary dental care.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu expressed her support for the Nigerian Dental Association and emphasised the importance of raising awareness about oral health.
She stated, “This show of love and this show of strength are very heartwarming, and I’m so delighted to be in your midst today as you are about to flag off your walk for awareness.”
The World Oral Health Day 2026 celebration, themed “A happy mouth is a happy life”, will take place on March 20th.
