The endorsement was announced during a declaration event held in Bende on Thursday, where representatives from the 13 wards of the constituency, political stakeholders, community leaders, youths and grassroots supporters gathered to reaffirm their support for the Deputy Speaker.
The constituents commended Kalu for what they described as effective representation, inclusive leadership and quality service delivery since he assumed office in 2019.
They noted that the Deputy Speaker’s legislative contributions, empowerment programmes, infrastructural projects and welfare initiatives had distinguished him as a worthy representative of Bende Federal Constituency at the national level.
According to the stakeholders, Kalu has continued to demonstrate accessibility, commitment and capacity through interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, road infrastructure and economic support programmes across the constituency.
Speaking on behalf of Item Ward C, Mr Orji Udeagha said the people of the area remained solidly behind the Deputy Speaker and were prepared to support him in all his political aspirations.
“I came to pass the message of the people of Ward C Item concerning our leader, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, that he has done absolutely well. They are among those that endorsed him to contest for governor, but today they came to inform him they are with him anywhere,” he said.
Udeagha further declared that the people of Item Ward C had resolved to deliver all their votes to Kalu in future elections, stressing that the constituency appreciated his leadership style and developmental strides.
