The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for renominating Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 general election, describing the decision as one that will strengthen the administration’s achievements in security and economic reforms.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, Kalu said the president’s decision reflected wisdom, decisive leadership and a commitment to continuity, stability and national unity.
According to the Deputy Speaker, the renewed Tinubu-Shettima ticket demonstrates confidence in a tested leadership team that remains focused on implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda for the benefit of Nigerians.
Kalu also congratulated Shettima on what he described as a well-deserved renomination, praising the vice president’s loyalty, experience and dedication to national development.
He expressed confidence that the partnership between the president and his deputy would further consolidate the gains already recorded in critical sectors, particularly security and the economy.
The Deputy Speaker said the administration had laid a solid foundation for reforms and that continuity in leadership would help sustain the momentum toward national growth and prosperity.
“Your loyalty, experience, and commitment to nation-building are deeply appreciated. I have no doubt that this partnership will further consolidate our gains in security, economic reform, and prosperity for all Nigerians,” Kalu said.
He also prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and success for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as they continue to lead the country and pursue policies aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
