The oath of office and allegiance was administered by Barrister Ularam Gadzama and presided over by Alhaji Musa Halilu, National Chairman of the ADC Electoral Committee for the 2026 Congresses, along with Matawalle Kashim Ibrahim and other top ADC stakeholders and committee members.

The 2026 Borno State Congresses Committee members include the Chairman, Alhaji Musa Halilu (Dujima of Adamas); Hon. Ibrahim Zailani as Secretary; Dr Nicholas Msheliza as Member; Hon. Bulama Fugu as Member; and Hon. Bukar Kachallah as Member.

Alhaji Musa Halilu, National Chairman of the ADC Electoral Committee, stated that the Stangress 2026 elections were conducted peacefully and successfully across 412 wards, where party ward executive co-executives and Exco members were elected.

Similarly, elections for the 27 Local Government Councils’ party positions were held, with 42 positions filled; the State Executive Council and ex officio positions were also successfully and peacefully filled, with Hon. Kolo Bukar emerging as the State Chairman of the party.

He added that all the party elective positions were duly contested and properly filled, emphasising that the process was peaceful and hitch-free.

Alhaji Musa expressed appreciation and gratitude to the elder statesman and national stakeholder of the party, ADC, Matawalle Kashim Ibrahim Imam.

Speaking, Matawalle Kashim Ibrahim Imam thanked everyone who contributed to the successful election and inauguration of the SEC, LGC Exco, and Ward Exco members across the state.

He also appreciated the party members in his polling unit for appointing him as their chairman, congratulating the party members and supporters for electing Hon. Bukar Kolo as the state party chairman to lead the party to victory in the upcoming general elections.

Matawalle prayed for victory in all contested elective positions, urging unity, cooperation, and support for the party leaders to achieve the party’s goals in the state.

He introduced all members of the party present, calling on the new Exco to involve them in the party’s activities.

Responding, the newly elected and sworn-in State Chairman, Hon. Kolo Bukar Kukawa, thanked all stakeholders and the national and state Congress Committee chairmen and teams for conducting smooth and hitch-free congresses at ward, LGC, and state levels.

Kolo pledged to secure victory in the upcoming general elections nationwide, assuring that the ADC will form the next government at the federal and state levels, as well as in local councils and wards, while requesting support and cooperation from all.

He acknowledged that the challenges are significant, especially regarding insecurity, which ADC intends to address through appropriate measures taken at the right time with integrity in the best interest of citizens.

He assured members and supporters that leadership and governance in the state will change positively with their support, especially for the oppressed and marginalised.

According to him, ADC has developed a blueprint for the state—the recovery and transformation agenda—which will be implemented fully.

Bukar promised to deliver as he has done in the past, both as the former opposition state chairman (PDP), past LGC executive chairman, and currently as ADC state chairman.

Earlier, the elder statesman, Matawalle Kashim Ibrahim Imam, expressed his thanks for the support towards the successful election of the new Exco members.

He urged unity, support, and cooperation among the party members and assured his continued support towards achieving the party’s aims in 2027.
