Dr. Gbe Benjamin Orduen Announces Candidacy for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency

Dr. Gbe Benjamin Orduen, Managing Director of NuVate Group of Companies, on Friday formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), setting the tone for what is already shaping into a high-stakes race ahead of 2027.

The declaration, held in his hometown of Mbaduku in Mbanyumangbagh Council Ward, drew a massive crowd of political stakeholders, party loyalists, and community leaders, underscoring the growing momentum behind his ambition.

Among the dignitaries in his entourage were Hon. Dr. Gemanen Ajio Gyuse, the Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate in the last general election; Hon. Barr. Alexander Terver Tyonongo, immediate past Executive Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government; Hon. Ernyi Yough; Hon. Sam Dom, PDP Treasurer and Deputy Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government; and Hon. Ato Agber, among others. Also present was the ADC Chairman in Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Saater Mhambe.

In a notable show of cross-party solidarity, the PDP Chairman of Mbanyumangbagh Council Ward attended the event and openly declared his support for Orduen’s candidacy, a development that further signaled widening political acceptance across party lines.

Shortly after the declaration, Orduen proceeded to Vandeikya Township, where leaders of the ADC unanimously adopted him as the party’s consensus candidate for the constituency. The endorsement followed what party insiders described as extensive consultations across wards and key blocs.

Speaking during the adoption, party leaders described Orduen as “not just the best man for the job, but a necessary bridge in restoring political balance.” They pointed to long-standing zoning concerns, noting that the Tiev axis of Vandeikya—where Orduen hails from—has not produced a member of the House of Representatives since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.

They further argued that with the Vandeikya Kyan State Constituency currently out of zoning consideration, and Konshisha Local Government having occupied the federal seat for nearly 20 years, equity demands a shift in 2027.

“The time has come for the seat to return to Vandeikya, and precisely to Tiev,” a party leader said, drawing loud applause from supporters.

In what could prove a major boost to his emerging political ambition, Hon. Dr. Gemanen Ajio Gyuse also publicly declared his support for Orduen, pledging to collapse his entire political structure in his favour ahead of the 2027 contest.

With early alignments already taking shape and support cutting across party lines, Orduen’s declaration may well mark the opening chapter of a fiercely contested race—one that could redefine political representation in Vandeikya/Konshisha come 2027.
