The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), in affiliation with the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, has matriculated 82 students into five degree programmes for the current academic session.
The matriculation ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
In his remarks, the UNIMAID Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Laminu Mele, represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Services, Professor Muhammad Ahmad Waziri, urged the new students to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of both institutions.
Prof. Waziri warned that any student or group attempting to breach the peace of either institution would face disciplinary action.
He added that UNIMAID and its affiliates remain committed to expanding access to quality higher education across the country.
Federal Polytechnic Rector, Alhaji Sani Usman, represented by Deputy Rector Dr DalDru Saidu, described the affiliation with UNIMAID as a key pillar of education reform.
He commended the university for improving its learning environment and extending academic opportunities to other institutions nationwide.
Dr Sai advised the matriculated students to pursue knowledge, engage freely with polytechnic staff, remain vigilant, and support one another to achieve academic goals.
The affiliated programmes are BSc Mass Communication, BSc Accountancy, BSc Public Administration, BSc Business Administration, and BSc Banking and Finance.
