Federal Fire Service Certifies Transcorp Hilton Fire-Safe

The Federal Fire Service has certified Transcorp Hilton Abuja as fire-safe following a scheduled emergency simulation and evacuation drill at the hotel’s Congress Hall in Abuja.

The exercise formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and safety compliance in public facilities across the Federal Capital Territory.

The drill was supervised by the Head of the Enforcement Unit, Superintendent of Fire Murtala Muhammed, alongside his team, who evaluated the hotel’s emergency response procedures and the readiness of both occupants and in-house safety personnel.

After a comprehensive assessment, the facility was confirmed to have met the required fire safety standards and was duly certified by the Service.

The Service commended the hotel’s management and occupants for their cooperation and commitment to safety, stressing that periodic drills remain critical to preventing incidents, safeguarding lives and protecting property. It also clarified that reports suggesting a fire outbreak during the exercise were inaccurate and stemmed from a misunderstanding of the routine simulation.

The Federal Fire Service remains committed to promoting preventive safety measures and building resilience across public and private establishments nationwide.
