Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has declared that the Rainbow Coalition he leads will win all elective positions in Rivers State in the 2027 general elections, insisting that the political movement has the strength and unity to dominate the polls.
Wike made the assertion on Wednesday during his thank-you visit to the Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, where he addressed supporters who stood by him and President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
He explained that the Rainbow Coalition operates under the Renewed Hope Family, an initiative he launched to mobilise broad-based support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid and to reposition political forces in the state.
According to the minister, the initiative collapsed party loyalties across Rivers State into one political family, bringing politicians and supporters from different parties under a single platform focused on shared interests.
Wike added that Rivers politicians had moved beyond narrow party politics, noting that the Renewed Hope Family now represents a collective commitment to unity and progress ahead of the 2027 elections.
“After Tinubu, the rainbow coalition will produce every elective position in Rivers State in 2027.
“So, if you don’t belong to this rainbow family, forget it,” the minister said.
Wike, who outlined some of the benefits the Rivers people were currently enjoying for supporting Tinubu in 2023, assured them that “this year will be better than last year”.
He thanked the people for standing firm on their decision to support Tinubu, for the progress of the state.
He also commended the community leaders for their support and loyalty, adding that the risk they took in 2023 was now yielding positive results.
“Continue on this track and you will continue to reap good results. I assure you that I will stand with you at the appropriate time,” Wike said.
Earlier, the chairman of the council, Mr Onengiyeofori George, thanked Wike for all he had done for the LGA, assuring him that the people were united under his renewed hope family.
Similarly, Chief Michael West, representing Asari Toru Constituency II in the State Assembly, commended Wike for galvanising support for Tinubu.
Describing the minister as a “good leader’ the lawmaker praised the minister for making an Ijaw man a governor in the state, the first since the return of democracy in the country.
West pledged the continued support of the people, stressing they would follow him wherever he goes.
