ABUJA- THE President of the Senatem Senator Godswill Akpabio has denied reports saying that he is ill, saying that he is not sick, but hale but hale and hearty.”
According to the President of the Senate, he stated that he had travelled to Geneva for a parliamentary engagement and then proceeded to London, where he is currently staying.
In a statement late Thursday night in Abuja by his Media Aide, Jackson Ude, he said, ” Senate President Godswill Akpabio said he is not sick, but hale and hearty.
“He said the post about him being sick is not true and should be disregarded.
“Akpabio had traveled to Geneva for a Parliamentary event and then headed to London from there. He is currently in London from where he said stories about his ill health are not true.
Akpabio assured Nigerians that he would remain committed to his duties and will return to the country soon.
The clarification came on the heels of viral posts online alleging he was battling an undisclosed illness and receiving treatment in a London Hospital for emergency situation, adding that Akpabio was on his way from Geneva where he had attended a Parliamentary event, but had to make a detour to London for medical emergency.
