Senator Ibrahim Musa Kontagora dies in Abuja hospital in controversial circumstance

ABUJA- SENATOR Ibrahim Musa Kontagora who represented Niger North Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015 died today in a private hospital in Abuja after what was referred to as “a medical emergency”.

According to information, Senator Ibrahim Musa Kontagora died at the hospital in Abuja after the hospital allegedly declined to perform a critical surgery due to a $15,000 balance on a $30,000 bill.

It was gathered that he died after his inability to pay $15,000 surgery fee

The late Senator was a member of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) party, which later merged with other political parties to form the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

He was a member of the 7th Senate (2011-2015) and was succeeded by Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, the current Minister of State for Agriculture in 2015.

In the seventh Senate, Senator Kontagora served on the Senate Committee on States and Local Governments as well as Committee on Interior, among others.

Already, tributes has come from Wushishi Old Students Association (WOSA), which mourned his passing, describing him as a distinguished alumnus and a pillar of unity.

The Niger State Government expressed deep sorrow over his demise, highlighting his dedicated service to the people and the nation.

His funeral was held at the National Mosque in Abuja, with several politicians, including Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State and Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, paying their last respects.
